Match report

It was intended to put out a full strength team for this the last match of the season but TGA Raasay meeting, rugby and other commitments made sure that didn't happen.  Having said that this was by no means a poor side showing the depth of talent available at the younger age groups.

Batting first Thomas Aston compiled a well deserved retiral with 31 no with John Oliver at the other end showing continuing improvement with the bat until he lofted a catch on 19 being well set. Sadly both Jamie Perciaval and Sahil Kakar missed out.  73 from 18 overs was a defendable target.

With Ruairidh Russell dismantling Sher's stumps early doors things were looking good but K Dhami took the bulk of the strike and the runs in reaching his retiral target of 33no.  However 'Dale was behind the asking rate until Ali and A Sadiq took heavy toll on the change bowlers hitting 35 from their three overs to win the match with 6 overs to spare.

There is a wealth of talent here and hopefully this will bear fruit in seasons to come.

With thanks to Lynne Ramsay for her team management and to the parents who supplied transport throughout.  Also to Neil Dowers and Crawford Leslie for their umpiring and coaching.  Finally great credit must go to the lads themselves for their enthusiasm and willingness to improve their game over the course of what turned out to be officially one of the coldest, wettest and most frustrating summers for 19 years.
