Match report

"Take your time, good calling and take your singles" was the sage exhortation before Accies innings.  Answer - hit ball to fielder and call yes, oops no!  Result - run outs for our first two batsmen.  No 3 got a marginal straight no ball, decided not to play and was bowled - not a no ball! Then followed several simple catches and a couple of straight bowled offerings.  All out 39 including 30 extras. 

Helensburgh on the other hand batted very solidly with Higgins and Callum Caskie working the ball into spaces in the field.

Accies had two players on debut - Stuart Blackett and Ross Flanagan.  The lads, if they can just get rid of the wides, are a fair bowling outfit and they all fielded well.  Jamie Percival took a good catch and bowled the only maiden over of the match.  Adam Iqbal and Nick Rae managed a couple of run outs.

The boys can and will perform much better in later matches - they just underperfomed on the night. Revenge next week!
