Match report

On a bleak "winter's" evening, or so it felt Accies U15's bowling attack was put to the sword by Zain Ashraf [119no] and Feyz Siddiqui [52no], two very competent batsmen who took full toll of the many short balls offered to them.  The other nine 'Dale batsemen must have been very cold watching them from the boundary.  Ashraf in particular was very quick to spot even half runs forcing the Accies lads to turn singles into all run fours on two occasions during the innings.  Final score of 203 for no wicket from 20 overs.

Exams had taken a few of the older lads away on the night and Hamza Gardee and young Finn Herbert were called up with the latter doing a decent job behind the stumps - even at that the team had only ten players.

In Accies reply too many batsmen backed away from the bowling rather than getting into line and offered easy pickings for the 'Dale bowlers.  Adam McMurray top scored with 25 whilst Tom Keeley showed the best technique for his 6no albeit batting at No 9 - he should be further up the order. Final score 64 all out from 16 overs.

Better times will come but the lads will have to work on batting techniques, bowling consistency and knowing when not to throw the ball at the stumps when no one is backing up.
