Match report

The holiday weekend and illness rendered seventeen players unavailable for this match.  West of Scotland supposedly has 11 players but only eight turned up making it a relatively even contest numerically as Accies produced 9.

Sadly the bowling lacked any consistency although some very good deliveries were made notably by the younger players but the West batsmen were just too good taking full toll of anything short…and there were plenty of those on a slow pitch.  Calum Coats scored a blistering 132!

In reply Jamie Percival [49no] ran out of partners and was the solitary Accie batsman to make double figures.

Yes it was the second time that the team had been beaten by over 100 runs but there is promise there and the youngsters in the team did their bit.  Hard to accept perhaps but there is a huge difference between U13 and U15 cricket. I still contend that the lads will win a match or two in due course and the experience against rep standard players will stand everyone in good stead for the future.

One of these days we may get a warm evening??
