Match report

Scottish Cup Round 2 match Away against Prestwick. Turned out to be a good day to play cricket. Having lost the toss and asked to bowl, we started off well with Ekaansh taking the 1st wicket in the 2nd over. we then lost momentum with the next wicket coming after 110 runs were added to the scores (one of their batsmen retired after scoring 50). Wides, dropped catches, mis-fielding, missed run-outs all contributed to this score. Ekaansha and Sohrab picked up 2 and 1 wickets respectively. Team was a little unsettled with a target of 156 required in 20 overs.

Ramsay and Nas opened the innings, with Ramsay playing some exquisite drives and flicks to the boundary. taking no risks and playing along the ground they saw of the opening pair of bowlers before Ramsay got bowled out for 25 runs off 22 balls. Rahim came in and supported with quick runs making 23 off 18 before getting run out. Next in Murray made a quick fire unbeaten 33 of 19 balls. Nas played and supported all of them well before retiring for 52 of 39 balls. In the end we managed to achieve the score quite comfortably in 16.3 overs.

While we showed a strong Batting display, we need to work on our Bowling and Fielding. We gave away 23 wides and 2 no balls which contributed to 16% of their total along with dropped catches and mis-fielding. We need to work on this to stand a better chance in our U16 Scottish Cup Quarter Finals clash against Uddingston next week.
