Match report

After losing the toss and put into bat first on a sand laden outfield at Anniesland, Rahim and Alex had a slow and cautious start. The openers saw off the first pair of bowlers before both getting bowled to the first change bowler. Nas and Ramsay carried on with the cautious start and were 33 after 9 overs. They started picking up the moment a little in the next few overs, running very hard between the wickets. By the end of the 15th over Accies were 79 for 2. This was around half of 155, which Prestwick had made in the previous match against Glasgow Accies, just a week ago. Both Nas and Ramsay went into acceleration mode from there on before Nas got caught in the 2nd ball of the last over for a well-made 54 and Ramsay being on 49. Sohrab came in next and scored 4,2,1 in the next 3 balls. Ramsay managed to get 2 runs of the last ball to finish at 51 not out and Glasgow Accies finishing at 144 for 3. Accies managed to score 65 runs off last 30 balls.

Prestwick had an explosive start to their innings reaching 50 for 1 in just 6 overs and looking well on target to achieve their score. Nas and Vivek then came into bowl and did a brilliant job in putting the pressure back on Prestwick giving only 12 runs in the next 5 overs. Nas finished with a splendid spell of 4O-7R-1W and Vivek with 2O-6R-1W. Pranav kept the pressure on the batting side with a spell of 2O-11R-0W. Prestwick needed 31 of last 12 balls with their highest scorer still on the crease. Ekaansh bowled the penultimate over and got their set batsman out. Rahim bowled the final getting a maiden wicket.

Bowling: Though a good improvment in keeping the number of wides to only 11, we still need to work hard and try to get it even better.
Fielding: Was good and forgot to mention 2 runouts and 2 close calls.
Batting: Great, showing maturity and not panicking when the score was low and slowly building up the innings.
