Match report

Glasgow Accies won the toss and once again elected to field. Mikaeel opened the bowling and was not consistent with his control giving 6 wides in 2 overs, but came back nicely later to bag a wicket. Sourab from the other end started off with 2 wides, but then finished with excellent figures of 8 for 2 of 4. Nas again bowled a splendid line and length with variations giving away only 10 runs in 4 overs for 1 wicket. Rahim also took 2 wickets in his spell. Shaan having gone for 9 runs in his first over. Came back well from the other end, to finish with figures of 13 for 3 of 2 3 overs. Clydesdale finished on 77 all out in 18.3 overs.

Fielding was very impressive today. No mis-fields, throws being backed up. Sebastian at covers involved in running out of one the openers. Shaan taking a good catch running back from backward point. Brilliant diving attempt from Mustafa at mid- wicket, unfortunately not holding onto it, but saving a sure boundary. Sliding saves by Sourab at the boundary, also taking a looping catch. He did miss a difficult one handed catch but saved a few runs in the process. Alex took  a catch and made it look easy. Murray was good behind the stumps with a catch and run-out assisted by Sebastian. A direct hit from Nas, which was a close call and not given. I may have missed a few others. But feel very happy to write such a big para on positive fielding which has not been our strong point in previous matches.

Mustafa and Ramsay opened the innings. They played cautiously getting odd singles and punishing bad balls. Mustafa scored 23 before trying to go over the top and getting caught. Nas has a day off with batting, saving hos best for U16 Scottish Cup Finals. Murray came in a fired of a few boundaries scoring 16 of 11 before getting caught. With Team score at 70, need 8 runs to win, in comes Rahim who swats the ball like a fly off the first 2 ball he faces for  flat 6's over backward square leg to win the game.

A very convincing win with all round team performance which is what we need for U16 Scottish Cup Finals next week. Work as a team and we can bring the cup home.
