Match report

Carlton won the toss and elected to bat. It looked a ground with pleanty of runs with a large portion of the outfiled sloping towards the boundary. Though the soft outfield due to rain from previous night would prevent any aeriel shots to bouncing off to the boundary. Sohrab started with a well controlled bowling attack, while Ekaansha was unable to find his line and length. Sohrab got the first wicket in his 2nd over. But the next pair batted well and nugged the ball along the ground for regualr runs. Nas bowled 1st change and bowled a nice line and length to finish wicketless off his 4 overs for 21 runs. Rahim's 2nd over unfortunately went for 19 runs, with some beautiful shots played along the ground. Mikaeel was the pick of the bowlers picking up 2 wickets for only 16 runs off his 4 overs. Sourab, Rahim and Ekaash each claimed a wicket.

Fielding was not the best as we gave away a few runs including a dropped catch. Tough I would like to attribute that to wet outfield. On the brighter side we did take 5 catches with 2 a piece for Rahim and Murry and another one for Ekaansh. We gave 18 extras for No and Wide balls, which meant some extra scoring balls for the oposition. Overall bowling was a mixed bag with us restricting Carlton to 131 for 5, which seemed quite an achievable score.

Mustafa and Ramsay opened the batting. Carlton bowlers bowled a very good line and length and troubling the batsmen. We lost the firts 3 wickets within 5 overs scoring only 17 runs. This included Ramsay being run-out due to a mixup going for the 2nd run. Murry and Rahim seemed to pick up the responsibility to get the Team momentum going. Murray and Rahim lost their wicket scoring 16 and 12 respectively with the score on 45/5 of 11 overs. We then had a batting collapse with only 7 runs being scored off the bat and Glasgow Accies finished with 56 of 14.5 overs.

I do believe that the current U16 Glasgow Accies Team are a great Unit and capable of defeating the Carlton. We just had a very bad day in office. We learn from our mistakes and move forward better and stronger.
