Match report

Ekaansh and Ramsay opened the bowling after East Kilbride won the toss and electing to bat. Ekaansh’s first over got him 2 wickets both clean bowled. Ramsay then followed suite in the 4th over claiming another 2 wickets. East Kilbride were 16 for 4 in 4 overs. East Kilbride were not able to recover from this and regularly lost wickets trying to score runs. All bowlers did well with Ekaansh, Ramsay, Shaurya, Pranav getting 2 wickets each in their 2 overs while Oscar and Jatin claimed 1 each in 1 over. Fielding was better with 4 catches being taken. While we managed to get the opposition out for 37 runs in 11.3 overs, we still need to work a lot on our bowling. This was evident in Glasgow Accies giving away 40.5% of the runs as extras with 14 wides. The percentage of extras has been consistently high and will be crucial in a close finish.

With a low target to chase, the batting order was changed to give opportunities to other players to spend time in the middle. We had a rocky start to the innings with Robbie and Archie going back to the pavilion without scoring in the very first over. Other batsman tried to stick in defending most of the balls, but wickets kept falling regularly and it was getting too close for comfort. Eventually Glasgow Accies won the game in 13.3 overs with 4 wickets in hand and aided by 13 extras. Rayhan and Jatin were the top scorer with 7 runs.

Some cricketing basics that we need to work on is running between the wickets, calling.
