Match report
With a slippery artificial pitch Accies won the toss and elected to field. In hindsight perhaps they wish that they hadn't although stand-in skipper Cammy Russell wasn't to know that the difference between the two teams would be that well-known batsman "Master Wides". Out of a smallish Hillhead/Renfrew total of 102, 33 were wides - a third of the total!! Two wickets for the skipper, one each for Fehzan Irfan and Mark Forbes but only Ruairidh Russell and John Oliver can claim to have avoided wide-itis!
In a very depleted Accie team's innings due to ridiculous late call-offs only Oliver and skipper Russell managed any contributions of significance but, after their departures, the target became impossible - absolutely no reflection on the three debutants Hamza Gardee, Qasim Qayyum and Lewis Oliver. Lewis has set the new Club record as being the youngest ever U18 player at the ripe old age of 9.
Four run-outs for each team was the only matching part of this equation sadly.
