Match report

A rough loss for the Accies against an experienced Helensburgh side. Having been put into Bat first after losing the toss, we threw away too many wickets and as a result paid the price with a -3 total - albeit for the first time this season. The boys had done really well the past few weeks being solid in defense, but careless running between the wickets and loose shots proved our undoing.

We were therefore on the back foot trying to claw our way back into the game when it was our time to field and this knocked the wind out of our sails a little bit. Nevertheless I feel that these types of matches will provide a good learning experience for us and serve us in good stead for the season ahead. Remember boys, look before you run and call properly! Play straight and punish the bad ball! Roll on next week..
