Match report
After the long journey down to Ayr on a very overcast day, captain Calum Herbert won the toss and put Ayr into bat. What followed was one of the best Accies fielding performances in living memory. An excellent Ayr side was restricted to 84-5 and the amazing stat was that we only bowled 3, yes THREE wides. Andrew Robinson was again pacey, Brendan Clark although expensive has found a role as a genuine quick bowler and Tristan Clark narrowly missed out on a hatrick producing his best spell of bowling that I have seen him produce for us -very well done. The pleasing aspect was that everyone contributed, the fielding was tight, we cut out the quick singles and we had a real "buzz" on the field.
Our turn to bat produced a rather lacklustre affair however, with no one really standing up to take control. We were hesitant running and the wide ball was not punished enough. I dont remember us hitting a four, and as a result, lost the game closing on 43-5.
Positive developments are being seen, but we really need to turn these into victories.
Thanks again to H Gardee who scored in technicolour, taking a leaf out of Colin Dawsons expert methodology.
