Match report

The Stenny boys were older, bigger and stronger than the Accies team for this match with half our side unavailable.  This allowed the Maharaj twins to make their debut.

Sadly, batting first our lads seemed unable to hit the ball, not helped by 20 wides by the Stenny bowlers.  Unusually there were plenty of hittable leg side balls that were not capitalised upon.  Two daft run outs also did not help the cause. As a result Accies were restricted to a paltry 48 runs for the loss of six wickets, net 23.

The highlight of Stenny's innings, apart from their hard hitting, was a cracking diving catch by Sam Chadha. Two wickets apiece for Chadha and for Hamza Irfan were the pick of the bowling figures.

Full credit must go to Harrison Wilson for his fielding culminating in a diving attempt after a chase to stop the ball on the boundary.  He landed awkwardly hurting his right arm.  He had to come off for ice treatment but insisted on returning, leaving again for more treatment and returning yet again. That's commitment for the team!

A target was set before the game of not bowling more than ten wides.  The team total was nine so well done for that!  We just need to score more runs off the bat.
