Match report

Once again the opposing team was older and stronger but the Accies' lads tried valiantly on a warm early summer's evening.

With short boundaries and a very fast outfield all one had to do was to make contact with the ball and miss the fielders, a skill that the Uddingston lads had down to a fine art.  In a situation like this outfielders have to stay on the boundary rather than creep in to "feel in the action". In the event they had no chance of stopping many of the balls that came towards them.

Wickets fell to Paterson [3], Gardee [2] with 1 apiece to Cull, Aston and MacAndie.

Paterson top scored with 27no including 3 sixes with MacAndie and Cull getting into double figures but getting out once or more in the process.

Ahmad Almansoori made his debut both in the game of cricket and for his team and, hopefully, he will carry on to better things.  He could make a decent bowler in time after sorting a few minor points to his action.

Onwards to a home match against Freguslie, another strong side next Friday.
