Match report

Stirling won the toss and inserted the Accies' youngsters.  Although the lads ended up scoring more runs than the Stirling team the ever present problem of losing wickets prevailed which, at five runs apiece, costs dearly [45 runs] in the final analysis. MacAndie, Shah and the reliable Paterson were the only players who managed to hit boundaries. Aston scored some nice singles and Gardee continued her run of not out scores but scoring few actual runs.

Accies 72 [reasonable thanks to Rory P's 24 not out] for 9 wickets lost [not so good]; net 27.

In reply Stirling only lost four wickets with the better bowling coming from MacAndie [2 for 5] and to a lesser extent Paterson [1 for 11].  Mikaeel Shabbir made his debut for the team but refused to use a box and was therefore refused a batting slot.  Also on debut was Euan Hall who looks like making a promising young bowler and, indeed, was the only Accie not to bowl a wide or no ball during his spell.

Stirling 60 for only 4 wickets lost; net 40.  A Stirling win by 17 runs.

This is merely intended to be constructive criticism - calling needs to be louder and earlier, backing up by the non-striker is lacking in several cases, looking for quick singles needs to be on the agenda and just bowling at the stumps can be improved and really will increase the chance of taking more wickets.
